’Tis the Season to Shop Local is a fun, distinctly local holiday celebration inviting our community to explore Oceanside retail establishments and to shop local this holiday season. From Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30, through Sunday, Dec. 14, 2024, this award-winning lineup of holiday programs and events will feature a shop-and-win event, a window decorating contest, a tree lighting celebration, and weekly holiday markets — all amid the glow of holiday lights and the cheerful sounds of holiday music.

Take our challenge to shop, eat, and play local this holiday season! Simply use our digital passport and check in at one or more district shops, restaurants, and businesses from Small Business Saturday through Dec. 14, for a chance to win local prizes. Shop local for the holidays and get rewarded!

Enjoy festive holiday window displays throughout Oceanside while you shop during 'Tis the Season to Shop Local, as shops and businesses decorate their storefronts in festive holiday themes. Four businesses throughout Oceanside are decorating their shop windows and storefronts to the theme of 'Tis the Season for the chance to win first-, second-, or third-prize. The winning displays will be announced January 3, 2025.
HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY & GIFT MARKET
Dec. 5, 5-9 p.m.
During this special Sunset Market, Oceanside will welcome the holiday season with the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. at Regal Cinema Plaza. This annual event will be filled with activities for the whole family. Kids can visit with Santa, create a craft, and much more.

Discover eclectic holiday gifts from 200 artisans and merchants at San Diego County’s top weekly food and music street market. Every Thursday in December, enjoy one-stop shopping and dining with hot food from around the world, plus gourmet holiday goodies, live music, kids activities, and more.

Winner of the 2019, 2021 and 2022 Small Business Saturday Neighborhood Champion Innovation Contest by Main Street America and American Express, ’Tis the Season to Shop Local is an annual holiday campaign to support local retail businesses and artisans by encouraging residents and visitors to shop local during the holiday season. The campaign is a partnership between MainStreet Oceanside, the City of Oceanside Economic Development, and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce.
