Downtown Oceanside, So Much to Do!


With 3 and a half miles of beautiful beaches and the longest wooden pier on the west coast, Oceanside is aptly named. Enjoy fishing on the pier, swimming, surfing, and kayaking in the ocean, renting bikes to explore the beaches and downtown, and so much more! Check out Oceanside Adventures and take a whale watching tour or take a harbor wine cruise. Waverider Helicopter Tours offer eight exciting tours ranging from 8- 45 minutes.

Oceanside’s exciting food and brewery scene has much to offer! Breweries, gastro-pubs, farm to table, cafes, and the international food court at the weekly Thursday night Sunset Market are some of the highlights. For breakfast visit Petite Madeline, the Breakfast Club Diner, or the unique and funky Banana Dang. For a tasty lunch visit Swami’s, Veneto’s Pizza, Rim Talay Thai, and for dinner Breakwater Brewery is famous for its pizza as well as a large selection of craft beers. Harney Sushi, Anita’s Mexican Food, and That Boy Good BBQ are great options to satisfy all ages. Looking for something with a view? Visit Hello Betty’s Fish House or 333 Pacific. Local Tap House, Mission Avenue Bar and Grill, Tremont Street Sports Bar and Grill, and Surfside Tap Room are fun, welcoming hang outs with great food and drinks.

Want to bring your dog? Stop by Bagby Beer Co. and enjoy a tasty meal with craft beer. Dogs are also welcome at the Thursday night Sunset Market. You can listen to live music, do some shopping and pick up a dinner to enjoy it with a beer inside Stone Brewery’s beautiful, dog friendly, garden patio.

Downtown Oceanside has unique shops to explore, including the gift shops in the Oceanside Museum of Art and the California Surf Museum. And while you are there checking out their gift shops, take a museum tour! Artist Alley in Oceanside is another artistic hub with colorful murals and fun shops. The Oceanside Art Walk is hosted on the first Friday of every month and features local artists, live music, and performers. Looking for some extra relaxation? Plan a visit to the Apotheque Lifestyle Spa located in a cute historic building near the pier.
